Congratulations to our state and national karate champions!
In March, Georgie Lawrence (Year 12), Imogen Pollard (Year 11) and Miles (Year 7) achieved significantly in the Karate Queensland State Titles held in Cleveland.
Georgie won gold in the 16-17 Years Girls Kumite, Imogen won silver in the 16-17 Years Girls Kumite and Miles won gold in the Boys 12-13 Years Kumite.
Georgie and Imogen progressed to the Australian Open Karate Championships, held from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 April in Sydney. In this national event, Georgie achieved two gold medals and Imogen achieved a bronze medal—well done!
Additionally, Georgie and Imogen have been selected to represent Queensland at the National Karate Championships in September in Melbourne.
