Australian Age Championships

​Congratulations to our swimmers who recently competed in the 2021 Australian Age Championships at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.​

Year 8 | ​Tilly Dixon, Ava McLean, Isabella Willshire

Year 9 | Hannah Allen, Scarlett Barber, Stevie Fisher, Gemma Zaicek, Lachlan Campbell, Nicolas Kilner and Saxon Scheffler

Year 10 | Nick Fahey, Jack Geyer and Kieran Lees

Year 11 | Isla Watson, Zac Conias, Lucas Cyrillo and Callum Lees

Year 12 | Jamie Bayliss, Matt Gibbs, Alex Fahey and Jackson Herman

The competition took place over the school holidays, from Monday 5 to Monday 12 April.

Phenomenal individual results were achieved by the following students:

  • Jamie Bayliss won the 17 Years 100m Butterfly and achieved second place in the 100m Backstroke
  • Alex Fahey won the 17 Years 200m Butterfly
  • Kieran Lees achieved third place in the 14-15 Years 800m Freestyle and third place in the 1,500m Freestyle
  • Hannah Allen achieved second place in the 800m Freestyle and third place in the 400m Freestyle​

This was an outstanding achievement to compete at such a high calibre, national event – congratulations!

All of these national competitors contributed significantly to the overall fourth placings achieved in the respective QGSSSA and GPS Swimming Championships held in Term 1.

Additionally, Jamie Bayliss and Alex Fahey have been selected in a Junior World Swim Squad that will participate in a number of training camps and swims within Australia over the next few months.
