Year 11 students Estella Le, Kinjal Dani, Hoyeon Shim and Rhys Nickerson achieved excellent results in the 2020 UN Youth Evatt Competition, a model United Nations debating competition.

In the Queensland Grand Final, Kinjal and Rhys achieved first place as the Dominican Republic, whilst Estella and Hoyeon achieved second place as Germany. All four students were invited to represent Queensland in the National Finals, held on Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 December 2020.

In the National Finals, the students competed in six model United Nations debates over three days. From this, Kinjal and Rhys were invited to compete in the National Grand Finals, where they participated in an additional three debates. They were the only Queensland team to achieve at this level and they placed in the top 15 teams from across Australia. Congratulations!
