​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The GPS Tennis season runs from Saturday 20 April until Friday 14 June 2024.

The QGSSSA season will run from Saturday 13 July until  Saturday 7 September 2024​.

Results

Compulsory Registration and Consent

Parents/guardians are required to complete the online registration and consent for their child via the school website.

Please complete the online web form including each sport that your child may undertake for the year. The web form generates a school consent form which is to be completed, signed and placed in the tray on the counter in the Extra-Curricular Office in room D101.

Team App for Coaches, Players and Parents

QGSSSA Tennis are using a smartphone app as the main means of communication between coaching staff, players and parents/guardians. Team App keeps member contact details private and no members can communicate with each other through the app.

  1. Sign-up using your name, date of birth and email address. You'll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
  2. Search for 'BSHS Girls Tennis' and request access to the group which applies to you.
  3. Once your request is approved, you will be able to see news and upcoming events on your device or by checking your emails.
  4. Please note that turning on push notifications on the app allows you not to miss important posts as they are made, however, this can be switched off at any time.

Levy

Players must pay an annual levy for bus transport to venues outside Brisbane, equipment, administration costs, tennis development, coach shirts, coach recognition, GPS and QGSSSA home games catering and trophies. All prior levies and subject fees are required to be finalised before commencing the 2024 season. 

  • 2023 Boys levy: $160
  • 2023 Girls levy: $185

GPS Tennis 2024

Games are played at the home and away school venues. Home venue matches commence at 8:00am. Away venue matches commence at 8:30am or by host school agreement.

Training

  • Students must attend 75 per cent of training sessions to be eligible for a pocket.
  • The trails and training schedule for girls will commence in Term 2 and the boys will commence in Term 1.
  • Please watch the daily notices and Team App for training schedule information.

Development Program

The development program starts in Week 2 of Term 1 and is for prospective school representative players wanting to:

  • develop advanced technique and tactical application—development squads
  • focus on fundamental techniques to enable consistent point play—Play and Learn

The program is run through the school week before or after school. Students can sign-on at the Extra-Curricular Office D101 or by calling (07) 3291 4243.

Transport

  • Transport to and from local games is the responsibility of parents. Buses will be provided to venues outside of Brisbane.
  • If QGSSSA games are transferred to a Friday after school, buses will be provided to the venue. Parents are responsible for collecting the girls at the completion of the games.

Uniform

Players are required to wear the full BSHS Tennis uniform:

  • GPS – tennis polo, navy blue shorts and school socks
  • QGSSSA – tennis polo, BSHS skirt and white socks

Uniform lists and prices are available from the Uniform Shop.

Volunteers

Tennis is run entirely by volunteers. To help with fundraising, match day morning teas and match day supervision, please contact the Master in Charge.
