Students in Year 7 – 10 who miss an exam must complete the Missed Examination form (PDF, 111 KB). The form is to be submitted along with appropriate evidence (e.g. medical certificate) either to the relevant Head of Department (single absence – one exam missed) or the relevant Head of Year (extended absence – multiple exams missed). Year 11 and 12 Internal Assessment blocks
Year 11 and 12 students who miss internal examinations (including mock examinations) held in the Indoor Sports Complex (F Block) are required to inform the school of the absence prior to the scheduled examination start time. Parents/guardians should inform the school of their child's absence via the missed exam email address:
In your email, please include the following details:
student's full name
student's year level
date of absence
duration of absence (if more than one day)
reason for absence
also include your mobile number so we can contact you quickly, if necessary.
Students will be contacted regarding the absence and the examination will be rescheduled for the next available opportunity.
For students in Year 11 and 12, the QCAA stipulates that the illness or event must be unforeseen and beyond the student's control. The absence cannot be of the student's own choosing or that of their parents/guardians, such as a family holiday or appointment. Refer to section 6.5 of the QCE and QCIA Handbook for further information.
If you require an extension for an assessment piece other than an exam, please complete the Application for Extension form (PDF, 34 KB) and submit it to the relevant Head of Department.
Further information on this process is available via the Learning Policy (PDF, 1.4MB).
