Vocal Ensembles

​​​​​​​​​​Brisbane State High School has a thriving Vocal Ensembles program which enables students to participate in singing and enjoy musical interaction with other students.

Our ensembles rehearse once a week and perform at competitions and eisteddfods, as well as school events, including Vocal Soiree, Student Leaders’ Induction Ceremony, ANZAC Day Commemorative Ceremony, Foundation Day and Year 12 Graduation. In addition, students are encouraged to participate in our annual Vocal Soiree as soloists and in small vocal ensembles. Vocal Ensembles students enjoy participating in these ensembles and this enhances their musical skills as well.

From time to time, the type and number of ensembles may vary. The current structure is as follows:

• Vox Musica (SATB)
  Mixed Advanced Acapella Ensemble — Years 7 to 12.
  
• Chorale (SATB)
  Mixed Vocal Ensemble — Years 7 to 12.
  
• ​Vocal Sectionals
  In addition to your weekly rehearsal, the Conductor will notify certain groups and/or students requesting their attendance at this rehearsal.  ​

Team App

We are using a smartphone app to facilitate easier communication between staff, students and parents. Team App is designed for use on smartphones (android and iPhone), iPads and iPods, and can also be viewed online. It is free to download and does not incur a membership fee. Team App keeps member contact details private and students cannot communicate with each other through the app.

To download, go to Team App:

1. Sign-up using your name, date of birth and email address. You'll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
   
2. Search for BSHS Vocal Ensembles and request access to the group students, teachers, or parents (whichever applies to you), and any relevant ensembles.
3. Once your request is approved you will be able to see news and upcoming Vocal Ensembles events.
