Congratulations to our Cross Country runners who competed in the Queensland Athletics Cross Country Championships at St Joseph's Nudgee College on Saturday 15 June. Our girls team came first and our boys team placed second overall in the schools competition.
State High entered eight girls teams across the 13 – 18 Years age categories and placed in all age divisions. Three of our girls teams placed first and three placed second in their respective age categories.
There were some awesome team performances:
- Georgie Gilroy and Bridget Morrissey ran in two age groups to cover for team members who withdrew due to illness.
- Katherine Lawson had an awesome leading leg in the 16 Years girls age group in the fast time of 11:05 for 3000m.
- Nikita Moore ran 10:22 and came a close second in the 17 Years girls race.
- Jasmine Pearce, our 18 Years runner, teamed with Anna Jones (16 Years) and Bridget Morrissey (15 Years) to win the 18 Years age group.

State High entered four boys teams across 13, 14 and 16 Years categories. The boys did extremely well in their age groups and our 13 Years Team A achieved first place, our 13 Years Team B placed third, our 14 Years team placed second and our 16 Years team placed fourth.
