On Tuesday 23 April, Lily Rowe (Year 11) will be travelling to Bangkok, Thailand, for the U21 National Volleyball Championships. Upon arrival, she will commence a four-day training camp at the FIVB Development Centre to acclimatise, meet with her team and be presented with her Australian jersey.
Lily said she is excited for the opportunity to represent Australia and the experience that lies ahead.
"I'm expecting some tough volleyball to be played and am training to ensure I'm ready for the high standard of competition as well as the climate," Lily said.
"State High's Volleyball Program has largely contributed to my drive to achieve this long-standing goal. Being a part of the Open Team has encouraged me to take risks and continue to develop as a player, both physically and mentally."
We wish Lily all the best for her trip.
