Each year, the Design and Technology Teachers' Association of Queensland Inc. (DATTA QLD) holds the DATTA QLD Student Subject Awards to recognise excellence and outstanding achievements in design and technologies subjects across Queensland.
Teachers nominate students for the regional awards by submitting students' completed assessment tasks. The top three awardees in each year level from each of the seven educational regions in Queensland are then selected to progress to the State Finals, where they compete for the state title in their respective categories.
In October, four State High students of Design were selected as finalists in the metropolitan region in the following categories:
- Poppie Renshaw – Year 7 Design & Technologies
- Seanna Fitzpatrick – Year 7 Design & Technologies
- Winter Tenio – Year 8 Design & Technologies
- Hang Minh Vu – Year 9 Design & Technologies
In December, Poppie Renshaw (Year 7), Winter Tenio (Year 8) and Hang Minh Vu (Year 9) were announced as State Champions!
Congratulations to our students who competed in this competition on their outstanding results.
