The Past Students' Association (PSA) was created with the aim of keeping all past students in contact with one another and with current activities of the school. The PSA was originally formed as separate Old Girls' and Old Boys' Associations in 1921. There are presently more than 30,000 past students.

promoting reunions for 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th year class anniversaries.
The PSA also provides financial assistance to the school for projects aimed at promoting the tradition and spirit of Brisbane State High School.

All past students are encouraged to join the PSA, and present students are also encouraged to do so in the future. At present, there are approximately 1,400 financial members.

All State High past students are encouraged to register with the Brisbane State High Online Community (State High Connect). State High Connect is an initiative of the State High Foundation.

The PSA newsletter, 'AMICUS' is published quarterly and sent to all financial members of the Association.
