The swimming season commences Term 1 Week 1 to Term 1 Week 6.

Swimmers must wear the school swimwear and cap, available from the Uniform Shop:
All swimmers should wear their swimming shirt to each meet.
The levy covers buses to some meets, training equipment, coach apparel, administration costs, coach gifts, QGSSSA/GPS afternoon tea and trophies.

The Brisbane State High School Interhouse Carnival and spectating at GPS and QGSSSA Championships are official events counted towards minimum pocket requirements.
For information about the Year 7 to 12 boys' and girls' swimming camp held at the Runaway Bay Super Sports Centre before the commencement of the school year, please contact the MIC.
Boys - A bus will be provided for the Nudgee College and Centenary Pool meets as well as the GPS Championships. Transport to and from all other invitational meets within Brisbane is the responsibility of parents.
Girls - A bus will be provided for the Moreton Bay College Meet (to and from), SPLC Meet (to only), GPS Championships as well as the QGSSSA Championships. Transport to and from all other invitational meets within Brisbane is the responsibility of parents.
We are using a smartphone app to facilitate easier communication between coaching staff, swimmers and parents. TeamApp is designed for use on smartphones (android and iPhone), iPads and iPods, and can also be viewed online. It is free to download and does not incur a membership fee.
TeamApp keeps member contact details private and students cannot communicate with each other through the app.

Boys - Training begins in Term 1 Week 1

Wednesday morning (boys) and Thursday morning (girls) sessions are compulsory for all swimmers. These sessions are followed by a sausage sizzle for all swimmers in attendance.
Note: Students must attend a minimum of 15 training sessions. However swimmers who train with outside clubs must attend at least 5 school training sessions and show written evidence from their club of their regular club training. Students involved in other extra curricular school sporting activities that run concurrently with the swimming season must attend at least 10 training sessions with the swimming team. Please advise your MIC or your commitments.
Meetings are held on a fortnightly basis during the swimming season and occasionally throughout the year. For further information about the sub-committee please contact your swimming MIC.
The combined Swimming Dinner will be held on Wednesday 29 March at the Olympic Taverna, 50 Cansdale Street, Yeronga from 6.00pm - 9.00pm. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased from the school at the B Block Finance Counter by 4.00pm Friday 24 March.
