Water safety

All rowers will be required to participate in a capsize drill at the beginning of each season, and must also complete Safety Course 1—Brisbane River (online) to uphold the safety standards of our program.

To enrol and complete the course, go to the Rowing Queensland:
  1. Select Rowing Queensland: Safety Course 1—Brisbane River.
  2. Select Enrol in this course, Personal checkout and select BSHS from the school drop down menu.
  3. Create new account and enter your name into the checkout field.
  4.  Select Go to the course and Get started.

There are 3 modules to complete under Assessments. On completion, a Water Safety Card will be issued. Please note you do not need to complete the course in 1 sitting. You can save and return to the course later.

TeamApp

We are using a smartphone app to facilitate easier communication between coaching staff, crew and parents. TeamApp is designed for use on smartphones (android and iPhone), iPads and iPods, and can also be viewed online. It is free to download and does not incur a membership fee.

TeamApp keeps member contact details private and students cannot communicate with each other through the app.

To download, go to TeamApp:

  1. Sign-up using your name, date of birth and email address. You'll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
  2. Search for BSHS Boys Rowing or BSHS Girls Rowing and request access to the group rowers, coaches, or parents (whichever applies to you).
  3. Once your request is approved you will be able to see news and upcoming BSHS Boys or Girls Rowing events. To receive updated posts from the MiC, activate the push notifications feature on the smart phone app.
