Chess

GPS season is Saturday 21 July until Saturday 15 September.

Compulsory Registration and Consent

Parents are required to complete the online registration and consent for their child via the school website.

Please complete the online web form including each sport that your child may undertake for the year. The web form generates a school consent form which is to be completed, signed and placed in the tray on the counter in the Extra Curricular Office in room D101.

Levy

Competition participants must pay an annual levy for buses to meets, home game afternoon teas, equipment, staff shirt, administration costs and trophies.

  • $90 (2017) 

Development participants must pay a levy for home game afternoon teas, equipment, coaching, administration costs and trophies.

  • $70 (2017)

All prior levies are required to be finalised before commencing the 2018 season.

GPS Season 2018

Games are generally held from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on Friday afternoons.

All development chess will be held at Brisbane State High School after school on Fridays at I Block

Transport

Buses will be organised to Nudgee, Ipswich and to locations where public transport is a problem. Students must make their own arrangements for transport home for games at Brisbane schools. Last year some parents were able to drop students back at school or home after away games.

Chess Uniform

Participants are required to wear their school uniform to games.

Forum

Meetings are advertised in daily school notices.

Volunteers

GPS Chess is run entirely by volunteers. To help with set up, afternoon teas, please contact the Master-in-Charge.

End of Season Presentation

An end of season presentation breakup is held for GPS Chess. Details will be advised once the season begins.
