Chess

The season runs from 14 Friday July  2017 to Friday 8 September 2017.

Uniform​

Participants are required to wear their school uniform to games.

Registration

Students are required to complete the school online registration form

Levy

Competition participants must pay a levy of $90 (2017) for buses to meets, home game afternoon teas, equipment, staff shirt, administration costs and trophies.​

Development participants must pay a levy of $70 (2017) for home game afternoon teas, equipment, coaching, administration costs and trophies.

Games 2017

Games are generally held from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on Friday afternoons. Players are allowed 1 hour each for their moves. Some games always go the full 2 hours while those who finish early usually play some social games to fill in the spare time.

All development chess will be held at Brisbane State High School after school on Fridays at I Block.

Transport

Buses will be organised to The Southport School and Toowoomba Grammar School and to locations where public transport is a problem. Students must make their own arrangements for transport home for games at Brisbane schools. Last year some parents were able to drop students back at school or home after away games.
