Sporting selective entry

​​​​​​​​​Brisbane State High School has a proud sporting tradition, and students who enrol under this category are expected to participate in their entry sport for the duration of their enrolment at State High.

We have a strong commitment to the:

  • Great Public Schools' (GPS) Association of Qld Inc​
  • Queensland Girls' Secondary School Sporting Association (QGSSSA)
  • Brisbane Schoolgirls’ Rowing Association (BSRA) programs.

Please read these documents before starting your application:

Minimum achievement level

The minimum level of sporting achievement required is selection in a regional team competing at state level or at an equivalent​ club level.

Details of student performance achievements and specific information such as playing position and player statistics are required. If available, a representative team photo should be included.​

Girl's sports

These sports are eligible for sporting selective entry enrolment:

  • Athletics
  • Basketball
  • Chess
  • Cricket
  • Cross country
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Netball
  • Rowing (Years 9–11 only)
  • Rhythmic gymnastics
  • Softball
  • Swimming
  • Tennis
  • Touch football
  • Volleyball (Years 9 to 11 only)

Boy's sports
