German Film First Prize

Anya Tunjung (Year 12) has taken out first prize in the Goethe-Institut’s School Film Competition (Queensland), a German student film festival. The topic for this year’s competition was ‘Exploring a sustainable future’. Anya’s film, entitled ‘SOS’, uses a letter from the future to make an emotive plea to a contemporary audience. It foreshadows the catastrophic effects of climate change on the environment, ecosystems and individuals and calls the 21st century viewer to action to save this imagined future before it is too late. Anya's excellent German language skills were demonstrated in the script which she produced in German. Congratulations to Anya on winning this prestigious award.
