Chinese Speaking & Proficiency Competitions

On Saturday 25 May, 11 State High students competed in the 2019 Queensland Chinese Speaking Competition and the 12th 'Chinese Bridge' Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students (Queensland Division), jointly organised by the Confucius Institute Queensland (QUT) and Chinese Language Teachers' Association Queensland. More than 400 Year 5 – 12 students from schools across Queensland took part in these competitions.

Our students have demonstrated State High's outstanding achievements in languages learning and were awarded the following results:

Alice received a travel bursary for the Winners Tour of Shanghai and Beijing in July 2019.

All students who participated in these competitions have worked hard and performed at the highest level. We are all very proud of them. We thank our Chinese teachers Ms Fei Xue, Ms Rachel Jing and our student teacher Ms Vicky Su for their efforts in preparing the students and supporting them on the day of the competition.
