In September, three State High students were some of only 100 students across Australia invited to sit the Australian Mathematics Olympiad Senior Contest (AMOC). The AMOC Senior Contest is a gruelling four hour maths exam for high school students up to Year 11, which is used as a pathway to attend the International Mathematics Olympiad. The students all performed admirably – Mikaela Gray (Year 10) received a Silver Certificate and Eunsu Choi (Year 8) and Sam Meredith (Year 9) both received a Bronze Certificate. This is a testament to the students' commitment, hard work and talent displayed throughout the year. Eunsu and Sam were the only students from Year 8 and 9 in all of Queensland to achieve Bronze in the same exam as Year 11 students. Congratulations to these students on a fine achievement.
